Construction Codes and Standards

There has been a tremendous environmental push within the industry, both in materials used for construction and in the buildings themselves. Health & Safety aspects are also a critical element in satisfying the supply chain, legislation requirements and employee safety.

Another major change for 2007 is the introduction of Euro codes. These codes have been introduced in the EC to harmonise technical specifications. They encompass not only the design of the structure itself but also vital components of those works such as concrete and steelwork.
There are ten core Euro codes. Each consists of a number of parts so that in total 58 Euro codes are being produced. The head code EN 1990, provides independent rules for all operative materials.
